Neat+® easy-clean coating

A patented invisible titanium dioxide layer which is photoactive and anti-static. Neat+ helps windows stay cleaner for longer than uncoated glass by reacting with the sun’s UV rays to break down organic pollutants through a process called photocatalysis.

Then when it rains or windows are cleaned, water sheets off the glass evenly – to rinse away decomposed materials and leave windows looking pristine for longer.

Neat+ = the next generation of easy clean coating

Neat has been keeping windows cleaner since 2006, and 2020 brings a new and improved version – the aptly named Neat+, which now replaces Neat permanently.

Reacting even better with the sun’s UV rays to decompose organic matter, Neat+ has a TiO₂coating which is 25% more photoactive than Neat glass. It is also a more conductive surface and anti-static which results in 40% less dust build up compared with ordinary uncoated glass.

Neat+ technology harnesses the sun’s rays to lift dirt so the rain can easily wash it away. So you can enjoy a clearer view for longer.

The titanium dioxide layer of Neat reacts chemically with the sun’s UV rays and causes organic materials that are on the glass to decompose. It works even on cloudy days, as 80% of UV radiation gets through cloud cover. So when it rains, the decomposed dirt is looser and therefore less likely to cling to the glass surface.

Low maintenance low-E glass

Neat+ makes the low-E glass more conductive than uncoated glass, to inhibit the build-up of static electricity which attracts dirt and dust to the surface.

Energy efficient windows that also save water are a huge advantage for sustainable buildings. And less window cleaning means less money and water wasted, and more time spent enjoying the clearest possible view.

How it works

The Neat+ coating makes the glass “hydrophilic” and therefore smoother than ordinary “hydrophobic” glass. This allows water to disperse evenly and evaporate quickly to reduce water spotting or streaking. So water resists build up and ‘sheets’ off rather than ‘bead’ off, keeping the surface cleaner for longer.
